For the third consecutive week, residents along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan have reported witnessing luminous objects performing unusual maneuvers over the lake during nighttime hours, prompting investigation by local authorities and independent UAP researchers.
The sightings, concentrated between Muskegon and Holland, Michigan, have generated dozens of reports to NUFORC and local law enforcement.
Timeline of Events
Week one saw fishermen and harbor workers in Muskegon observe three amber-colored lights in a triangular formation hovering one mile offshore for 40 minutes. Week two brought reports from Grand Haven to Saugatuck of similar lights with a larger pulsating object at higher altitude. Cell phone footage captured by Holland resident Maria Gonzales has been viewed over two million times.
The third week produced the most dramatic observations. At least thirty independent witnesses reported a single large luminous object descending toward the lake surface before appearing to enter the water without a splash. Several witnesses described a green glow visible beneath the surface for several minutes.
Witness Accounts
Tom Henderson, a retired Coast Guard officer: "I've spent 30 years on these waters. I know what boats look like, what aircraft look like. This was a structured, luminous object that descended in a controlled manner and went into the lake."
Sarah Whitfield, a high school science teacher: "My first thought was a meteor, but it slowed down as it approached the water. Meteors don't decelerate."
Historical Precedent
The sightings echo the famous March 1994 Lake Michigan UAP event, when multiple objects were tracked on National Weather Service radar near Holland and Muskegon. MUFON has dispatched field investigators, and researchers are establishing a monitoring post on Grand Haven pier with night vision cameras and spectrum analyzers.
